When Plans Change: A Door Closes, Another Opens
I was meant to be launching this week.
The R.E.A.L. Method, all of it, live in Clarityflow. ✔️
The Snug ready. ✔️
The membership dashboard glowing. ✔️
I had it mapped out: a soft launch, a few founding members, the momentum building quietly.
Everything I've been building for two years, ready to step into.
Then the GDPR thing hit properly.
Clarityflow — lovely as it is to navigate — has no UK compliance pathway. No UK Addendum, no Data Transfer Impact Assessment option. Just an EU contract and a gap I can't ethically ignore, especially when I'm working with health data in questionnaires.
I'd done the research, hoped it might have changed, but sitting with it this week, I knew: I couldn't ask my members to join me in a space where their data wasn't held to the standard I hold myself to.
As Yogananda said,
"Trials are meant to awaken rather than punish you, and a calm mind helps you see the truth clearly."
That's what this has been.
Not a punishment.
An awakening.
When a door closes, another opens — but we often regret the one we can't enter.

What I hadn't counted on was this: stepping back, clearing the space, and realising the door that was closing wasn't the dream.
It was just one route to it.
The loneliness of the backstage
What's caught me most isn't the delay.
It's the texture of these last months — the solitude of the admin. The Airtable schema building. The DPA forms. The privacy policy rewrites.
The hours in spreadsheets and compliance tabs, all alone with my laptop and a question that wouldn't let me rest:
Is this actually the way?
The CFS/ME makes it worse. A day spent troubleshooting tech integrations costs me two days of rest. But there's something else, too — this work of building a business online doesn't have the presence of teaching.
My Monday class, nearly 30 years running, people in a room who know my name: that's real exchange.
That's what I'm made for.
The web pages and the databases and the DPA forms?
That's necessary. But it's a solitary labour.
So I sat with it. And I thought: what if I stopped trying to build this in a place that feels like the wrong room?
The new door
I'm moving everything.
Not away from the plan — toward it, but differently.

This website for the core.
HIRO for the audio content (the practice recordings live where they breathe, not locked behind another platform).
YouTube for anything that requires a video ( I already have hundreds on there - ask if you need the link to get behind the password protected ones).
A simpler, more integrated landscape.
Fewer platforms. Less admin choreography. More direct: me, the content, the people who choose to be there.
Will it take longer?
Yes.
Will it be more work at first?
Probably. But it's work I can do on my own terms, without waiting for someone else's infrastructure to bend to UK law.
And that's worth something.
The delay isn't punishment — it's protection. A chance to see the path more clearly before we walk it.
I'm seeing it more clearly now.
The trials will keep coming. But with a calm mind, I'm finally seeing what I actually need.
Oh, and the meditation really helps!
