Staying Calm in a Quiet Room Is the Easy Part

This week we take everything from the first three Paths and learn to live it. We practise carrying that stillness back into an ordinary day.

We've found where the world was dragging you out of your skin, we've practised letting the body drop its guard, and we've found that steady, upright seat where the muscles can finally release their grip on the bones.

Now, we take all that quiet energy, and we learn how to LIVE it.

It’s easy to feel calm when you’re alone in a quiet room. Or practising in a group session. But what matters is keeping your connection to that quiet place inside you that’s already calm. We call this your Inner Sanctuary, and we aim to stay in contact with it when you step right back out into the noise and demands of your day.

Stepping out of the relaxation space, back into the busy world and carrying the peacefulness with you.

Keep calm and drive on!

It's like walking down from the quiet mountain summit back into a busy valley town, but carrying the stillness of the high fells completely intact inside you.

This week, we practise the heart of what I teach: drawing your attention back from the outward rush, from the busyness and everything pulling at you, and letting it settle somewhere quieter inside.

Your calm centre isn’t somewhere you travel to. It isn’t on retreat or in the yoga class. It’s already exactly where you are.

We practise here, on the chair, where it’s easy. Little by little, you learn the way. So later, in the chaos, you have a better chance of responding from that same calm centre, rather than reacting.

And for now, here's a small taste

And then let it go.

Notice how you feel

If you want more of this feeling, this week's practice for Soul Support members is a guided seated relaxation to listen to, plus one thing to notice as you step back into your busy day.

Soul Support is where I guide you step by step, so that finding your Inner Sanctuary becomes something you can do for yourself, any time, not only when someone is guiding you.

All four Paths of Map 1 live together on one page, so you can find your way back to any of them whenever you like.
