Annihilate or Recreate❓
This week I allowed someone to reduce me to tears.
I let them get inside my head and project their insecurity onto me
They caught me before my meditation (my phone tried to change that to medication but that's an altogether different blog)
Lesson #1
Lesson number one is;
Don't engage with the world in person or digitally until you've recentred yourself with meditation Linda
Twas my own fault for picking my phone up before I had reconnected to my inner haven.
From there I can respond rather than react
Recreate the moment rather than annihilate the person winding me up
Have I always been like this❓
Heck no, I've always said that without yoga I would either be dead from drugs and alcohol or in prison for murder.
My temper and fighting ability were pretty well known
Even with just yoga I was still very reactionary.

The calm never lasted long after getting off the mat.
Meditation changed everything.
Especially the techniques I have been practising the last couple of years
Now I recreate myself in natural pauses through the day
My calm centre lasts longer, I respond to situations rather than reacting - not always, I'm far from a saint
Lesson #2
Regular, consistent practice helps
Lesson number two is;
You have to train your nervous system BEFORE you find yourself in situations
Fortunately I didn't react too badly, I didn't share my angry thoughts in response and annihilate the relationship.
Maybe my calm does last longer these days
Those short daily meditations are having an effect
I did put the phone away and practice a 10 minute technique so the rest of my day didn't go skewiff.
How do you respond when others push your buttons?
I would love to hear any tips or techniques you use, and in the meantime there is a short recording down below that you can listen to
I am always looking for others to sit with, to share the calm and spread the peaceful stillness.
I would love to practice the techniques with you, so that you can
Recreate yourself in the pauses of your day
We all have them, the moments in between
Traffic lights
Meetings
Phone calls
Waiting for
The kettle
A bus
The washing machine clock to catch up
I love helping others withdraw to their portable inner temple of peace/silence/calm.
Join us any Monday, in person or via Zoom
Want to give it a try right now?
This was recorded in a recent class so the quality isn't great due to the echo in the hall but it'll give you a recentre right now
